      ... we could not take that iconic picture of the exterior, we moved inside to get a better look at the incredibly ornate windows, ceiling and backdrop. For a southern church here in the US this was quite lovely. It wasn't as grand as the ones I've visited in NYC but it had a certain charm to it that those huge churches in NY did not.

      1. Monday, February 18, 2013 - We left around 10 and headed for a gas and Wal-mart stop before heading down to another barrier island and Fort McAllister State Historic Park and campground. Nice drive into the park with the large oaks just dripping with Spanish moss and the Ogeechee River on the left. Checked in and set up our camper on a site in the secluded campground.
