1. Monday, February 18, 2013 - We left around 10 and headed for a gas and Wal-mart stop before heading down to another barrier island and Fort McAllister State Historic Park and campground. Nice drive into the park with the large oaks just dripping with Spanish moss and the Ogeechee River on the left. Checked in and set up our camper on a site in the secluded campground.

We lucked out with a spot right around the corner (the city also offers visitor passes which allow you to park at a meter for your stay - a great deal for $7.00) The room was beautiful, not much of a view though (a parking garage).
