I've got to quit being surprised by the comfort, quiet, friendly, well appointed BW hotels. This one was as good as they come. The front desk (Erin) was exceptional...wine and cheese upon arrival...what's not to like?
It's not home...but it's what I like away from home.

... bit of a grease-fest so we ordered some food. It was very much needed after a knackering day!

Well that was it for Hollywood and Six Flags. Hollywood was definitely worth the visit, although it is overrated. The tour was probably the best part of it and covered everything we wanted so four days was probably a little bit longer than required. On Monday we start to work our way down the coast, beach hopping all the way to San Diego. Lets hope we don't have another Venice Beach episode!

Tomorrow we leave behind the 38 - 40 degrees heat of Los Angeles and head to the milder climate of San Francisco, via an overnight stay in Monterey. I have really enjoyed LA - it is such a vast city of diversity. It is really hard to get a good sense of its size and see it all in such a short time, however, I think we did a very good job of sampling some of the main attractions! Yesterday we spent the day out and about and visited places such as Venice Beach, Santa ...

... San Francisco we were delighted to find another CF restaurant and this time David and Kate couldn't resist the cheesecake but they bought takeaways, put them in the fridge at the hotel and had them for breakfast! It had to be done so the next day we went to Disneyland - who says it's only for kids?! It was only an hour in the car from where we were staying - a far cry from the 6 hours it took David ...

We will continue our way down the coast, scuba diving and seeing national parks, finally ending in Singapore where Lisa and Stephanie will depart me.
