I've got to quit being surprised by the comfort, quiet, friendly, well appointed BW hotels. This one was as good as they come. The front desk (Erin) was exceptional...wine and cheese upon arrival...what's not to like?
It's not home...but it's what I like away from home.

... in Santa Monica. We did burgers on the old Pier and walked to Venice Beach, which is rather disappointing nowadays. All Tshirts and weed shops. Yep medicinal marijuana has hit town. All a bit seedy, but you can get a script, or medical certificate.... anyway, my (nowadays!!) very clean living husband developed a headache from inhaling ...

This morning we have to leave New York and today will basically be a travel day- a necessary evil. We have packed up last night and we are having considerably more trouble zipping up our bags than when we set out. I have to point out here that we have both spent almost a month in America with only carry-on luggage. I am quite proud of this as I didn't think it would be possible. We are straining at the seams a bit now though, largely due to Paul having purchased about a thousand t-shirts! ...

With a while day to enjoy the delights of LA, we decided to head on the ever so delightful metro to Venice Beach. Universal Studio's was met with complete distain from the leader, so that obviously wasn't going to happen. Shame! Anyway the metro is the worst place to be in the whole world......there are so many wierd people it is not funny. They talk to themselves, attempt to clean parts ...

    CHAPTER 5: Disneyland!

A travel blog entry by madsandmike on Jun 08, 2014

An early morning start began the day that I have been thinking of for most of my 22, nearly 23, years; the day we went to Disneyland. A bit of a sour start when our transfer bus was 40 minutes late. But a quick chat to a few poms, a call to the bus company, prompted the bus to arrive just as the concierge pick up the phone. Typical, I say, TYPICAL!!! An around about trip to pick up a few ...
