Traveled from tre's to four oaks, nc. Uneventful. Was going to stop at a pilot for gas. Got off the interstate at the exit but couldn't find it. Gas was listed for 3.59. Continued down the road about 1/2 mile to turn around. Found a station there for 3.32. I saved .25 per gallon by going a short distance from the IS. This was the first time I had to gas up. We departed St Mary's at 0840 heading up the Potomac further for Breton Bay. The day was mostly cloudy and very cool, with winds NE 15-20, gusts to 25. We sailed downwind under main alone out of St. Mary's River. Once in the Potomac, fast close reach to close hauled on main and jib. We toured Breton Bay all the way up to Leonardtown before anchoring at 1322 hours. This is a very nice river and we would enjoy returning. ...
Many of you probably had no idea that I'm getting ready to leave for Europe, or maybe you knew I've been thinking about it, but plans seemed kind of up in the air. Well, SURPRISE! I'm flying out of IAD on Monday and heading to Europe for the first time in my life. We are flying into Amsterdam on Tuesday around noon, and then we will do our best to combat the jet lag. For the past ...
