... I'll have to look up that distance in miles but it took over two hours) We searched each campground and they were all full. With good reason, as they were all right on the lake, and strikingly beautiful. I'm pretty sure Andy was impressed too as all I heard from the passenger seat was "Oh, Man!" repeated over and over. After dinner we went to the campground deck overlooking the lake and sat and enjoyed the view. Afterward we used the Jacuzzi then headed back to our campsite. ... brew and sunset.

Flathead lake is the perfect lake among many others up here in Montana for an afternoon swim. The water temperature is just about perfect, cool but not cold, absolutely refreshing, a great way to cool off from the heat of the day and prepare for a perfect night. Most nights are just right too, dipping down into the upper 50's, low to mid 60's you always get a good nights sleep.

... Fran had suggested we split dinners but who was listening. We had lots of doggy bags to bring back lunch for tomorrow. They had a great "Huckleberry Naked Berry" desert that was to die for. Again it was hugh but I had some help finishing it. Right next to our outdoor seating was a small stream which is featured in a short video clip. We passed a small church with a neat sign out front.

... 8211; who knows what is lurking below. I got out, and waited for J to finish her display of swimmingness. We walked back to the ‘ranch’ in silence, my swim ruined!

However the sun was shining and so I didn’t sulk for long. We barbequed some local sweet corn (20p a head!!) which was fantastic. Then we downed some microbrew and wine, and debated the theological and cultural implications of the American flag behind the cross ...
