... marshes. Strange but back home I wouldn't walk 200 yards to the local shop, here we walk everywhere. A couple of well deserved beers when we got back and then an evening of good food, good wine and a good book.
Today was our first (and only) day without cycling. After a late breakfast we set about the job of sight seeing in Ely. It is a lovely city with much to explore and we wiled away most of the day walking about the city and paying homage at Cromwell's House and also visiting the Ely museum.

... doesn't do justice to the interior and the food was nice with decent portions. After explaining our situation we were told that we could rock up anytime and park up on the car park. Always good to have options.
... wind. Very hard going as you can imagine, but eventually we made it into Ely to find the earnest coffee shop to not only have a warming drink, but to also use their facilities to change into some warm and dry clothing.
We managed to check-in to the hotel at about 1:30pm and then off to Prezzo's for a bit of late lunch. Not before the heavens opened again for a tremendous heavy shower that seemed biblically fitting for the city we were in.
