... a proper noun. He wished us well on our personal viking! Back on the road toward the main game, Ale’s Stones, a large boat shaped monument of stones four to six feet high set out in a shape of a boat. Atop a very windy hill on the southern most point of Sweden. We were directed into a car park, we guessed to keep the hordes out of the small village. Off we set, up the long windy hill, maybe 800 metres into the wind, dodging sheep droppings all the way. We ...

We're in Kalmar for a few days, en route to Trelleborg where we'll get the ferry to Rostock in Germany. Kalmar has been a delightful surprise, a lovely town with it's greatest claim to fame being Kalmar Castle, which has been around in some shape or form since 1180. After breakfast we walked with them to the bus stop and awaited its arrival. It had been a good week, we all (I think) enjoyed it and they are certainly welcome back again sometime in the future, should they wish to, that is!

    Once they’d ...

... years has the level been other than on 'max’. This time it was on ‘min’, so something is amiss. I will check the levels daily from now on and hope that a) the gearbox is OK and b) that we actually get the opportunity to sail the remainder of the way home.

They’d enjoyed their castle visit and after lunch, we set off as a foursome to call in at the glassblower’s workshop and shop near the water tower in town and then ...
