    There were no surprises, it was a cool, windy morning and my naiive hopes that the forecasters had got it wrong were dashed – they were on the money. So there was nothing for it other than find things to do.

    After coffee, we paid a visit to the KalmarCounty Museum housed in what was once Sweden's largest steam powered grain mill, specifically to see the artefacts salvaged from the ship Kronan but also to see whatever else they had on show – after all we like ...

    We searched on-line high and low to find a reasonably priced hotel or B & B and ended up reserving one on the Island of Oland, Sweden so we turned up the east side and headed north. The countryside is agricultural, neat and tidy. ...

    ... were invited over at 18:15 for drinks and had the pleasure of meeting their daughter Alex and their friends Kit & Kathy. We spent a pleasant 90 minutes or so swapping notes and learned that the Halliwells have sold Freya to a friend, done a sort of boat swap for a Nimbus 32, which they will keep near St Malo in France, close to their new holiday home they have acquired there.
