Hi All, Sorry for the 9 day delay getting back to this blog. But, in our defense we were distracted if nothing else by sleep for a few days to join the time shift. Einstein explains this at length. The flight to Kalmar was like traveling in miniature: off the little shuttle tram, up the step ladder, into the little commuter plane, seatbelt made out of twine...not really but close. The Kalmar airport was as big as a Denny's. With no security, we breezed in the door ...

We’d thought of stopping in Malmo but were really going to be pushed for time and we could see the building we wanted to see from the bridge anyway! Isn’t it great how we can always rationalise our choices. The building is a twisting skyscraper called the Turning Torso. Malmo council wanted ...

We got to know our Copenhagen neighborhood by strolling up to the lively Strøget pedestrian center, followed by dinner at one of Denmark's oldest restaurants.

Toured Stockholm's City Hall - 59.327572,18.05368 , home of the Nobel Prize banquet and striking mosaic murals celebrating humanism and the ideal of people working together in community.

Then, after stopping along the Göta Canal for a lunch break at Restaaurang A Cafeet in Soderkoping, we drove through beautiful birch forests on our way to the seafaring, bridge-and-water-laced town of Kalmar.

... and to hurry up and write some more! Once completed but not uploaded onto the blog site, we went shopping and came back for lunch and thence, back to the chandlery to buy some chart folios for the north of the Baltic. Julie was very clever and discovered discounted, old versions in the Sale section and on top of that the salesman gave us additional discount as we were Cruising Association members, a total saving of over £80 and worth doing. By the way, the charts are only for backup ...
