This stay in Medora was prior to him being President in the early 1900's. The land obviously moved him as one of his first acts as President was to claim these lands as National Parks. In fact he was known as the conservationist President, as he saw the beauty and the need to preserve some of America's natural history...hugely unpopular at the time though we thank him for it today.
Phew another long day.
Stopped overnight in this park, which is absolutely HUGE, with a whole section of mobile homes, and large RV sections, mostly filled with oilfield workers. Very nice park, but very plain - 50 amp service is great in this hot weather, though!
Tomorrow, on to Jamestown, ND.
Not much of a day. Long days ride to North Dakota on I-90 and Route 85. Route 85 was a long desolate road and it was almost scary to think if you ever got stuck out here, no one would come by to help. There wasn't much to see along the way either.

It was great to get back to the sunny skies above and temps up to 64F.
Finally got to see some Bison near Jamestown on the I-94. They weren't in the wild but in the fields outside the Buffalo museum. The herd is famous for having three albino's.
We gained another hour with change to Mountain Time as we arrived in Dickinson.
