Today I spent the day at the Field Museum - a Chicago institution and set up as a result of the World's Fair held there in 1893, more or less.
A lot of the exhibits weren't worth carting home, and assorted Chicagoans managed to convince people that purchasing them and then displaying them would be a 'good idea' ... since then, the Museum has gone from strength to strength.
