Today we drove to Newcastle and went to see Hadrian's wall at Wallsend because that was where the wall started. It was the site of a Roman fort called Segendunum and I got a Roman coin with Hadrian on it.
... had a big line and a £7 cover charge so we went into the place next door instead. After a couple of beers there we were pretty tired so got a taxi home - relatively cheap for the distance.
