Maybe even my best memory was when I crashed into the tree while playing Pickle and my grandpa told me I had a hole in my lip. For some reason my family always thought it was funny to watch me become hysterical.

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN PLUS-Gateway Siesta Key Sarasota
Very nice hotel
i stayed at the Holiday Inn Express from April 8-11,2005. It is veryu clean and very accessable to shopping, bars, and restaurants and most importantly 5 minutes from Siesta Key Beach. By far the best beach I have ever been to including Hawaii. It is very affordable . I didn't have a rental car so I walked or took the bus to wherever I wanted to go. The bus fare is 50 cents one way and it takes you right up to the beach. Siesta Village is awesome!!!!! alot of shops, bars and restaurants to go and see. It was perfect and the staff was extremely friendly. Hooters of Sarasota is right across the street. I highly recomend this Hotel.
Just middle class and for this too expensive for one person
Rooms rather dark,at a gallery outside; but clean and with all necessary.
Breakfast most s w e e t ,sweet pastry or muesli ,but also eggs and little bit cheese for exampl,. served all on and with plastic tableware by a sleepy man near the smaller buffet.Friendly reception, but some not really professional.
I travel to Sarasota about twice a week and stay at the Holiday Inn Express each time. I have been in evey room almost. I can not tell you every that I have seen mold! The hotel has tons of staff in all areas working when I am there. The manager Nick is always helpful and willing to due what ever it takes to make people happy. Please read all the reviews before making your dessison. If you want five starts then go find it and pay for it. There is a Ritz in Sarasota.
I am currently staying at the Holiday Inn Express for business, and it is disgusting! The walls are moldy. The rooms are "surface" cleaned but really filthy...i picked up the TV remote and almost threw up when I put my hand in something sticky!!!
There are rust stains all over the bathroom tub, and there is gross stuff on the sides of the night table!! If you're considering here, go somewhere else. You'll be skeeved out!!!!!
Great Hotel, Clean and Convenient
Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for one night during Spring Break and found it to be very nice and clean. The pool and jacuzzi are added bonuses for this type of hotel. The complimentary breakfast bar and coffee (all day) are wonderful nice amenities which save time and money if traveling with family/children. I would surely recommend this location to family/friends traveling in the area. The hotel is close to shopping malls, restaurants, etc. not to mention the wonderfully famous Siesta Key Beach. For those familiar with the area, the hotel is located right at intersection of 41 & Stickney Point Road (the south end of the key, less traveled than north end.)
We stayed, two of us, there for 9 days. Great location without being on the beach. Can walk to siesta key. Although you would want to take a car for the beach. Siesta Key has the large famous beach, but we like the small Turtle beach better. No parking problems because most people go to the large one. Also good reasonable turtles restaurant is down there. The hotel rooms were smaller than most Holiday Inns Expresses, especially the newer ones. We also got a room over the parking lot and behind a stair well which made the room damp and dungy. I went looking for a room around the pool side and found one still empty and requested a change. They complied. We checked in around 4:20 and most were already checking in. The price has gone way up in Feb 2004, to back to before 9/11, 2001 prices, which were higher before the attacks.
Dec 13, 14 '03. good location, nice breakfast, heated pool/spa, wireless internet being installed, good value, pd $ 50 a nite
good value for $ 50 pd per nite. with 2 double beds, room is packed.
good free parking in back. friendly staff. wireless internet being installed in lobby area.
I stayed here in early October, 2003 and the room and hotel in general was clean and well kept. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection including hard boiled eggs. The hotel is one mile from Siesta Key Public Beach ( one of the best in the world), with shopping and dining next door and across the street from the hotel. This area is more popular with retirees and young families so do not expect an exciting nightlife. So if your looking for a quit getaway and a great value you won't go wrong with this hotel.
We made a reservation weeks ahead of time for a two-day stay in Sarasota. They put us in a room looking out on the parking lot and across from the back of a grocery store with a loud air conditioner.
Clean and Beautiful
The Holiday Inn Express was great. We got the hotel for a great rate. We were pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the hotel was when we arrived. I was slightly worried because the price was so good. THe breakfast is great with everything from hard boiled eggs to cinnamon rolls. Our room was clean and neat. THe hotel is very close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We used the pool everyday, it was very nice and had a hot tub. I would definately recommend the Holiday Inn Express for a great place to stay while in Sarasota/Siesta Key, one of the best beaches in the world.
