    ... and a really striking cathedral within a cathedral. Would have loved to stay for some of the festivities (Bruce Cockburn was playing in the evening) but the rain, our travel schedule, and the long lines tipped the balance to moving on. I was really impressed with the downtown of Winnipeg and would come back for a longer stay.

    ... encourage you to touch the animals and pet them - with just two fingers. But how often do you get to do that?

    After that, we went to Costco for gas. They had the best price for gas in town at about $5.00/gallon (1.234 CAD / Liter), but at least it was "real" gasoline, no added ethanol. I think we've stopped at Costco almost every day on this trip! and found they serve their frozen yogurt in a waffle cone! So ...

    ... to amazing steak and prawns. We all had lots of laughs and a fun night, and as we were leaving, we realized snow had been falling for quite a while, and our cars were well and truly iced over, as were the roads.
