    ... a small amount of breakfast, Kate & Roy asked if we wanted to drive into Fredericksburg. Kate and Roy hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so they drove into Johnson City for breakfast and we cleaned up, then met them at the restaurant. After they finished their breakfast, we drove into Fredericksburg and walked around a little and did a little shopping.     ... soooooo boring!!! it seemed like it took forever to get to the point where we left I-10 for US 290. Of course 290 isn't all that interesting either. There were dark clouds gathering and it sure it looked like it was going to pour down at any minute, but no rain. Pretty soon, the clouds parted and the sun was shining, thus making it warmer.

    ... did see wildflowers in abundance on the roadsides, in the medians of the roads, mostly toward the south toward san antonio and to the east of austin. we did stop in boerne and in johnson city and took photos of wildflowers, we had a hard time deciding which ones to publish so we just put in a few extras!
