    ... remainder of our trip. Now moving east through Louisiana, and then on to Florida. The good news is we will trade the wild places for familiar faces. We are about to reunite with friends and family over the next few months before returning home. We have missed that above all else on this trip.     Wednesday feb 18 the weather was warmer. We packed up and headed to Oak Alley Plantation (1200 acres) about an hour west of New Orleans. We arrived around 10:30. We did a guided tour of the home first then explored some of the grounds and perused the outbuildings that would have been slave quarters. Then we had lunch at the restaurant there before heading on our way. We drive as far as Vinton LA and arrive there around 6:00pm. Had homemade chili for ...

       A nice Passport America park - full hookups, drive thru sites, and a continental breakfast every morning that includes fresh-made Texas-shaped waffles, as well as biscuits and gravy, bagels, and lots of other good stuff!    Laundry was small, but very clean, and only $1/wash/dry.  A good place to get all caught ...

    I packed up and was on my way to breakfast at McDonald's. I had pancakes again for $2.19 and a water. I gassed up at a Shell for $44.73 and was on my way.

    ... a Walmart tho, and we "boon-docked" for the night. FREE.. They had a steakhouse right across the parking lot so we had us a Texas sized steak meal. Nice end to a sh--y day.

    The next stop on our journey was Rockport Texas. This little community sits right on the Gulf of Mexico. Yep, it is on the opposite side as that longggg penincula known a Florida. Man we are travellin fools.
