    ... and I never got used to the humidity. I found the woods to be very dense and kind of creepy, but loved the fireflies. I have never seen as many football-field-size front lawns as I did around Nashville. John Deere must sell lots of riding mowers there. I had also never seen such huge neighborhood fireworks displays as I did on the 4th of July. They rivaled some put on by towns.

    ... to see next time passing through. The Loretta Lynn ranch, complete with a replication of her childhood home and the ol’ coal mine of her papa is certain to be worth our attention next trip. Sure, it’s no doubt a tourist trap and I’m not a big country western music fan. But, some attractions are just plain interesting enough to be worth it.

    9.30am flight from Manchester to New York JFK then a taxi ride across New York to La Guardia for onward flight to Nashville. A 5 hour time difference meant we arrived in Nashville around 7.30pm. Weather hot but dry. After checking in to the Holiday Inn Express downtown we walked down Broadway taking in the sights and taking photos. Had a meal at Demos and then went back to hotel.
