... and we went up to Shaver Lake and the Grove. It was spectacular with several giant sequoia. I paced around one and it had a 27 metre girth. There were also some giant redwoods and other huge pines.

After we'd seen the grove, Bill said he wanted to show me his favourite place and we headed off on a one lane sealed track up Kaiser Pass which has the Methuselah trees which are believed to be the oldest living trees on ...

... California Kingsnakes. All poisonous . . lol. . Luckily none of them gave any attention to me in the slightest. The day before that though we encountered a very angry rattlesnake that was rattling its tail so hard it aounded like a never ending cats hiss. It was quite angry. None of us laid eyes on it but it was in a bush that was literally over hanging the trail. After some time it moved to a bush further away and we all made a mad dash down the trail past it. Nicks new ...

        Preparing for Music in Europe

A travel blog entry by miss.chris on Mar 07, 2011

About 20 years ago we took our 3 pre-teen boys to Dorothy Chandler, The Music Center, to hear Vivaldi's "The 4 Seasons". We went to the lecture before the concert where the conductor played music which had actually been recorded at a historic music hall. I don’t remember which hall the music was recorded at any more but I do remember that my middle son and I looked at each other and said that we needed to go to Europe to ...
