      ... on Thurs 27th, which was Thanksgiving day. We were staying about 2 hours out of Chicago with a friend of Kathy's whom she had not seen for 32 years. The talking started when we arrived on the Tuesday afternoon and was enjoyed for the next few days until we left on the Friday. There was several inches of snow covering the ground and houses and the neighbourhood looked like a typical winter's scene on a Christmas card - at least to us! The temperature never went above freezing ...

      Vacation = Spontaneity and Freedom

      A little less than four weeks ago, Andrea asked Eric what he wanted to do on vacation; one word rose quickly to the top of a very short list: spontaneous. Without the responsibility or expectations of normal life vacation lends itself to the freedom to do things on a moment's notice that otherwise would not be possible. Today was a day filled with this type of spontaneity. We grazed around the continental breakfast at the Quality Inn and then packed our bags, re-caffeinated at ...

      Day 2
      Next morning after a typical Best Western hotel breakfast, the hotel was also willing to shuttle us to the car rental down the road. ... IL, about 30 minutes NW of Chicago. Not too close but cheap enough. Our stay will cost us $38.00 for 2 days. The RV park is called Paradise Camping Resort. It advertised a tropical oasis restaurant and bar. When we checked in, Ted saw the tropical oasis restaurant and bar and found a typical midwestern cafe with an 8 year kid doing his homework. He looked kind of tropical. All the lane names in the park are tropical destinations like Aruba, Bahama, Key ...

      ... the family were out-of-towners. My sis Jan (Andy's godmother) and her husband flew in from Simi Valley, California. Uncle Don, Andy's godfather drove up from Ocala, Florida. Andy's Aunts and Uncles and cousins drove up from Chicago. Most of the family made it, sorry everyone couldn't be there.

      We couldn't of asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect and everything went as planned with no problems.
