... We didn't get to the hotel till 6.15pm where we promptly had a couple of beers and de-briefed the day.

By the time we hit the town it was gone 9. Quite by chance we were 100 yards away from the bar where Meynell had got ****** in June so in we went.
One of the lads behind the bar recognised me from last time and that was that. They were in national mourning because France had been hammered by the All Blacks. Several ...

The street market was in full swing and dedicated fish market a sight to see. Meg was tempted at every turn but we couldn't buy anything. This was probably the best market we gave seen with autumn richness and cold sea catches; crabs, prawns, lobsters and shells all alive. To get some ...

Les Halles and the medieval streets down to the port area are well maintained and make for good lifestyle in a seaside town. ...

We have three nights in a good B&B to explore the area. The old walled town has everything one needs, shops, shops, shops. We walked the ramparts and discovered that St Émilion was born here. Evening drinks and a cheap meal and early to bed. Lots to see ...

... Coeur in Paris. It is grander outside than in but it does have a dedicated chapel for pilgrims to Compostella. An Indian lunch in an old cloister before going to the Roman museum showing the 1C temple and domus then a walk through the oval park with vestiges of the roman colloseum. Home in time to watch NZ Argentina in rugby with a bottle of ...
