      ... drove through The University of Minnesota. It has a proud history and reputation for providing top ten academically and athletically. It is that big that it has its own bus service, fire department hospital and government. Hard to believe but it was the first to successfully perform a double lung in plant in1988, first successful bone marrow transfer, first successful open heart survey and first to put condoms in vending machines just to name a few. ...

      We arrived home on Saturday night after a few days in the Loire Valley and four great days in Paris. In addition to chateau visits, museums, food and strolls, we saw a French stand-up comedian who taught us "how to become a Parisian in one hour". Our last night was spent in a jazz club ...

      Today was dedicated towards my conference: an 8am Think Tank, running a roundtable, chairing a panel. I walked to the conference center (one block away) outdoors, to help wake myself up ... but I always used the "skywalk" after that. Rather nice you can cover lots of the downtown without going out of doors. Today was grey, overcast, and windy (and cold), so I had no desire to be outside.

      ... systems (yikes btw), I am realizing that this is real. Tomorrow night I will not be in my comfortable bed with a warm cat on my feet, but rather on a plane to Tokyo.

      Well at this point, it is time to face reality. My bag is packed (miraculously), my electronics are charged, and as far as I'm concerned I'm ready. I am leaving great friends and my family to go exploring - see you 2013 Minnesota!

      ... I am talking to YOU reading this!) not to travel. A big part that holds people back is that they don't know about all these opportunities. That is what I want to share on this blog. There is couch surfing, hostelling, working on a farm for meals and a place to stay, au pairing, teaching English, there is this gig working on a bee farm that I really want do, so many things in so many places! I plan to try out ...
