... we decided to do some site seeing and maybe some hiking if we could find the right road. We hiked about three miles into the Arkansas back country to a place called Hawksbill Crag. We took plenty of water in our day pack and off we went. I could swear I heard banjo music on the hike. Just kidding... it does remind me of the country side in Deliverance though. Not taking into account how long it took us to find the place and ...

Our last stop was with Lauren and Eric, Luke and John William in Little Rock, Arkansas. The boys had a blast swimming and the girls had some great cuzzie time too. Eric even had a break from call and was able to eat dinner with us. We woke up the next morning and headed all the way into New Iberia. The family was waiting for us with a warm welcome. We all agreed 10 days and about 3000 miles across the country was surprisingly fun! And God blessed us with a safe trek ...

... quite easy. Illinois is large. I'm talking stupid large. Or maybe tall, depending on whether you are looking at a map of it. As tall as Abe Lincoln's...hat. Anyway, we drove for half of our journey today and we were STILL in frickin' Illinois! It felt like sprinting up a down escalator- we just weren't getting anywhere at all!

In the middle of Illinois, we came across many strange sights. That's also a lie. It's hella boring ...

... We didn’t stop in any one location for too long today which got us to the campground by 3:30. It was suppose to be cooler here (which I guess it is at 36 degrees Celsius) but it feels a lot hotter with the humidity. Thank goodness the kids were able to hit the pool!

... It's expansive and never ending and could see for miles. Double lunch. On days where we go more than 90 miles or it's over 90 degrees we have a second lunch. So our first lunch was at mile 44 and second lunch was 72. After second lunch we still had about 30 miles to go. Kim and I decided to pretend that second lunch was really first lunch and we weren't exhausted and we only had 30 miles to go. Peaches from Arkansas. My peaches that I got yesterday from that ...
