... We go early to catch the museum/heritage centre and run into a small festival. Max is well away when you can pull the rope for the bell on the old steam engine and ride the oil drum train as well as get up close as a 100 car freight train goes by.
Our train ride goes smoothly and is actually early in Fort Worth & Dallas. Maybe not surprisingly, we get the same coach attendant as on the way done - her name tag read T. Booker, so Booker T it was.
... walking - I became the walker. First night is bath night....
We had been warned about helicopters, reveille, and the nearby freight train but none of these were too bad (I just sleep through it).
We also unloaded the bag full of childrens' clothes, Liz had been given & our trusty blue bag (13 years of travel) is left in Fort Hood.
Meredyth had the 'one day only' opportunity to meet an old London flat ...
If you live in the south, you never get snow, you don't even expect it! When the rare time comes around that you ACTUALLY get snow, all hell breaks loose! Even if it is a few flurries, you break everything warm out you have, and act like it is a freakin' blizzard!! Or at least that is what we do in my house. My husband is from Chicago so he things it's hilarious! Whatever, we have fun!!!!! ...
... then I thought! Well worth the ride!

... Cinnabon! Along hwy 35, Tad pulled off on a random exit and announced we were going to the Inner Space Caverns. He'd seen a billboard a few miles earlier and thought it looked fun. It was an amazing experience. We took a 1.5 hour guided walking tour underground through the cave, learning about how it was discovered, what minerals line it, and which animal fossils were found. The girls did great. On our way again to Austin. We checked into the Embassy Suites and then back to ...
