We are so used to waking up early and given that today was yet another bright, sunny day, there was no reason for us to hang around, especially as we had a lot to do when we got to Vaasa. We had about 20 miles to cover and with little wind, we had the engine on at 07:15 and we left Djupkastet in perfectly still conditions. There are two main official languages in Finland, Finnish and Swedish and all towns and harbours seem to have two names, corresponding with these languages. So any harbour we were heading for might adopt either or, or both names. Pietersaari at 70 something miles was too far away, given the contrary wind and poor prop. performance. Fortunately we had on the boat ...

... group of young singers, "Ensemble Astrum Tenerum" came to the restaurant for a serenade. Eight young pretty girls and 2 young men. They were terrific - variety of music, good balance and energetic. They had attended Real Time's work shop earlier and the quartet was eating lunch when they came. They were very excited to sing for the barbershoppers as we were very receptive of their deserving performance.
