... Tåsinge. As a result of all of this shallow water, getting south and into deep water between Denmark and Germany is not straightforward. Initially we had to follow a buoyed channel which took us down to Strynø and then for four or five miles we had open, albeit not deep (5-6metres) water to sail in before entering another buoyed channel down towards Ærø and one of its main harbours, Marstal. We remembered doing this last in 2013 and we ...

... warm, delightful in fact. We did some washing as it would dry very quickly in the heat and went into town to divest ourselves of the empty beer cans (10p/tin deposit to encourage recycling, not that we need that but I’m loathe to throw Kronor away) and get one or two last bits of food. Despite the frustrations of unpredictable winds, it had been a lovely day and as the weather looks settled, we look forward to some more of the ...

Waiting at a bus stop, a Hop-On bus labeled Cruise Terminal, picked us up and had us to the ship in a few minutes. A generous tip and s smile was payment enough. ...

... the shape of a Viking ship, then a large stone topped the entrance to the burial chamber. There had been over 100 barrows on Aeros but farmers of the past had unknowingly pushed the stones out of their fields to make way for crops. We cycled past wind turbines, a solar panel farm, and a straw burning facility. Apparently they have an excess amount of straw so they have developed a clean burning mechanism to burn straw for ...

... swimming on so we decide to have supper there.

Chris decides to come with us so we take both cars so as to be more comfortable. We stop at the beach and Dave goes right in but wait; this beach is rocky and Ann sights on not far away that is sandy, so we go there.

It takes a long time to get deep in the water here and there are hardly any waves. The water is not really that cold once you get in ...
