Wonderful hotel to stay. Even though it was very busy the room was extremely quiet to sleep in. Good wifi, tea, coffee and all were supplied in the room together with good soaps and all. Certainly one of the best hotels on my travels and I would certainly stay here again.

Onto Hobro which looked like a pretty scummy town / city but was our gateway to Fyrkat, the Viking Fortress and reconstructed farmstead. The fortress is from 980 in Harald Bluetooth's time (Google will tell you all about it if you're interested!) We had great fun wandering around the two sites, re-enacting the Viking ways! Back on the road to Auning for a two ...

It didn't stop until late so we just took a quick stroll down to the beach in between the showers. We joined the new camp site owners and locals in the bar/restaurant for bratwursts and locally brewed beers or a G and T. £3. for each of the drinks...a bargain. We left having made lots of new friends.

... very tired of traveling, when we decided not to go. I just have to go to Rome and Venice with Anni another time.

I was in charge of making the maps and there are some things we should have done to make that easier for me. Either we should have taken a picture of every place we went (with names of the places) so we could find them again or we should have had some kind of GPS device to map all the places.

... the airport Monday afternoon. The flight was extremely short, only about a half an hour. The Ålborg airport was really small and only had five gates. It is the third largest city in Denmark and is the capital of Northern Jutland. We took the bus from the airport into the city, which only took about fifteen minutes, and our hotel was only a five minute walk from there. It was a little cramped for three people (there was a bunk bed and a mattress on the floor) but it had ...
