Wonderful hotel to stay. Even though it was very busy the room was extremely quiet to sleep in. Good wifi, tea, coffee and all were supplied in the room together with good soaps and all. Certainly one of the best hotels on my travels and I would certainly stay here again.

... It is well known for its sand sculpture festival, running from May to October each year. The theme for the sculptures this year was Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. As well as the impressive sand sculptures, there were timber and metal sculptures. Inside, they had a rock'n'roll museum, heavily focussed on Elvis. They had many items on display. We then drove further north along the coast to Hirtshals, where we visited an Oceanarium. They had a number of large ...

Apart from a passing small ship carrying a few dozen containers the other way, there was not much excitement during our voyage, we passed it most pleasantly and vowed to return here one day, we both of us really fell for the Limfjord.

We arrived in Hals at around 13:30 in bright, warm sunshine (sorry if I’m being boring but ...

Some of the principal ones include a castle that never was, the Aalborghus, built to subdue the locals who were already under the thumb so it doubled as a residence and storage facility for payments-in-kind, a medieval monastery and nunnery combined and Jen Bang’s house dating from 1642. Jen was a merchant and a hugely successful one and in order to flaunt his wealth, he built ...

We carried on chatting for an hour or so and at about 23:00, our re-acquainted friends bade their farewells, they are off to Hals in the morning, the harbour at the eastern entrance to the Limfjord. As they were leaving we noted something extremely unusual, unique even, it was actually quite warm! It felt like a summer’s evening, at ...

... live in Sweden because houses are cheaper and commute to work in Denmark. As both are EU countries it is not a problem. I also found out that Denmark is known to have the best chocolates in the world - according to the Danes, Anthon Berg chocolates are the Mercedes Benz of chocolate! One of the favourites is plum in Madeira and I must admit it was delicious. Now for some interesting facts about today's destination, a place ...
