Helsinki, Finland was not what I expected. It is modern, green with parks and gardens, surrounded by water, clean and has the looks of a modern European city. Its population is 626,000 with a metropolitan population of 1.4 million. It is the largest city and capital of Finland and is the 3rd largest Nordic city (after Stockholm and Oslo).
