          We finally said goodbye to "our" boat this morning and spent a few hours hanging out playing in Branges as we waited for our taxi to Lyon. Amazing what you can do with things around you!           ... countryside but the second half seems less attractive as it appears generally more commercial after Orleans. Eventually, about 6:30 pm we arrive at the hotel! Our room is good with views over the river Soane.

          A very good if silent breakfast, still not talking to me - in fact peter says we'll cycle to Macon and get the train to Paris and home. So it was a pretty early start 9am, the lane next to the hotel has a sign to the Voie Verte so we follow that & just happen to see a very small yellow sign on a post next to an uphill dirt track & it led to the very elusive bike route.
