    ... back down. We used 3/4 of a 80 gallon tank going 200 miles today! I'll let you figure it out, I don't want to know! We chose to go Highway 50 rather than IS80. We wanted to see Lake Tahoe area, which we did. Beautiful scenery along the way, but lots of winding road and steep grades, both up and down. I would recommend it however, especially on a motorcycle!     ... in the park and almost impossible to find a parking space. They use shuttle buses to take people on tours of the area. We stayed at a campground an hour’s drive away and high-tailed it out of there next day in the wake of the forecast for eleven inches of snow. In the lowlands it was just rain which is desperately needed in drought-stricken California.

    ... We aren't sure if it was the creepy people staring but we didn't get a good feeling. We didn't stay long, leaving the 104F valley temperatures and it's creepy inhabitants behind.

    ... dozens of four-foot tall sculptures were scattered around town. Because the sculptures are not confined to downtown, it is possible to run into one just about anywhere! We even spotted a Joe Cool from the bus in a squarely residential area.

    Going to Santa Rosa also gave us the opportunity to cross the Golden Gate Bridge, which is an experience in itself due to the fantastic views. That was probably as close as we will come to crossing it on ...
