It seems that we haven't been able to outrun winter, as we woke up this morning to about an inch of snow and more blowing in. After checking the temperatures along our planned route for the day we concluded that the snow wouldn't last and headed out. We were wrong! ... br> We passed the Chollar Mine but couldn’t get a picture as it was down low. It was the original entrance to the Comstock Load gold and silver mine. The many miles of mines under the City Streets were shored up by wood from the Lake Tahoe area.
It was amazing to see some beautiful homes sitting right next to dilapidated, falling down structures. But this was the charm of this amazing town.
