So today was a roller coaster - lots of ups and downs. It started out great. We left Chicago and in 2 and a half hours or so, we were in Madison, Wisconsin. I was shocked by how much I loved Madison. It was such a nice place to stop and spend some time. We ate breakfast at an awesome little place called Mickie's. However, apart from some rain, and the thick lake mist ...

Took off to get to the John Deere factory by 10am, stopped for a take out coffee, got some fuel and then Greg realised he had left his hat and sunnies at the motel - but a quick call had the motel hold them until later. We got to the plant in plenty of time and after handing in our phones and signing security forms we watched a movie and then rode some tractor drawn trailers to view the assembly plant. It is a ...

    Spring in Wisconsin

... Tuesday ) was cool and sunny. A wonderful surprise is that, due to our cold and long winter, spring is really just beginning here in Wisconsin so I didn't miss it. My crocuses and early spring tulips are up, daffodils are soon to bloom, lilac leaves are just coming out. A double spring -- Appalachia and Wisconsin -- is truly a ...
