      ... was not too busy, with a few cars down on the beach. We got to the promenade, where cyclists were still coming in from their ride. Alsorts was laid on for the 1000s of cyclists. It was a nice promenade walk to the pier. It was getting a little windy and we could see dark clouds in the distance. Along the Pier boardwalk was 'Joes crab shack' and at the far end of the pier was packed with fisherman and their rods. One fisherman had caught a fish, but it was small so he threw ...

      ... and had a wonderful time chatting...though not long enough. Then we headed up the coast 4 hours, to spend 2 nights with friends Danny & Charlene. What a great time had visiting and catching up...it has been almost 2 years.

      ... the beach. Until the late 50's they used to race right on the beach.

      There was an old biplane flying up and down the beach towing an advertisement, looks like an awesome way to make a living. There are squadrons of Pelicans flying sorties above the water and diving in amongst the people playing in the water, sometimes landing right next to them.

      ... took a back seat, pardon the pun, to the boring caution laps. Whatever happened to Marshall's and local yellows? Insurance companies and lawyers are spoiling it. No wonder the bleachers were largely empty. Maybe the Floridian equivalent of a deep freeze, 45F had something to do with it. Any way, a BMW won, following the pace car across the finish line, no way to end a race for anyone.
