... dry valley, sort of like Los Angeles, with the town of Saltillo spread out before me. Again -- it was like arriving in Detroit circa 1965 -- all factories and steel mills and depots and railroads. This is the other end of Ross Perot's giant sucking sound. ... Park. They had been to our New Years Eve celebration and one of our Saturday afternoon shindigs. Mauricio set us up at the American Business Hotel, just outside the GM Plant where he works. He said it was one of the few that was dog friendly, so Molly got to stay at a first class hotel for the next 4 nights.

... picture was in Monterrey, never saw it before, but the emblem on the front looks like it may be a Pontiac. Cute car.

The statue of St Catherine is in the town of Santa Catarina. All of the towns in Mexico have art objects displayed, so much more than in the US.

We arrived at Saltillo around 4 pm and heard a squeak as we were turning into the drive coming from the MH. Could it be the new brakes or a wheel bearing going? Bill will look further into it tomorrow.
