    ... we got to the place where we would hike, there was no rain at all. In fact, the sun was coming out periodically throughout the entire day. It really was perfect hiking weather and just what we needed before we headed to the car to set out for Munich tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have to write about misadventures with the GPS tomorrow!

    ... for the dinner we would have that night. He also made a delicious homemade apple strudel for our afternoon "tea." Oh my...I'm still tasting that one! For dinner we had Sauer Braten, Salat, and Knoedel (dumplings) with homemade Tiramisu for dessert. How am I ever going to leave this amazing place and people??? Tomorrow will be a sad day for sure.

    ... is nothing short of amazing. After the tour of the inside of the castle, we had a picnic lunch and then went to the Kloster Bebenhausen which was a former medieval monastery. Some of the buildings were converted into a royal hunting palace in the 19th century. While we were there we saw the Mayor of Tubingen...no paparazzi but a camera crew (of one)! I take that back...since I snapped a few pictures of him, I guess I qualify as paparazzi!

But in Germany, likely all over Europe, bakeries churn out a ton of fresh goods every day and you see people eating them everywhere. Need a snack? Grab a buttered prezel or a ciabatta bun and head off on your daily errands.

    There are lots of palaces in Germany, but not many real castles left. Hohenzollern Castle is one of the few - and it only still exists because kings liked having a "traditional" castle to play with, and kept rebuilding it. Which they had to do a lot, because people kept having battles and knocking it down.
