it was a very pleasant stay, with direct free shuttle bus to the hotel and airport, as well as a shuttle bus to La Ramblas. The gym had basic equipment, sufficient for a good workout. Just that there wasn't a kettle in the room and i had to pay to get one!

Madrid on Monday morning is busy. The traffic on the weekend was busy, but now, at 10am, everyone is heading off to work for the day. We have bid our host, Pablo, Adios, and we are off. The traffic seems to be better on the road and again our trusty Mandy has us second guessing everything she says, but Anne has now interpreted how she calls the turning points on and off the multi-laned highways, we get out of Madrid, unscathed.

... found a buzzing bar for the England v Italy game, soaking up the atmosphere with the locals. Other nights we ventured into the Gothic Quarter where we found some fabulous tapas bars and restaurants enabling us to continue our Sangria tasting tour of Spain. However as much as we loved the quaint little bars, the delicious food, the charm of the Gothic Quarter and the buzz of Barcelona, it was spending time with our dear Sorcha and Steve that was the highlight for us and we were ...

So we took her back outside and eventually the ambulance showed up and took her and Ash to hospital. After that we didn't feel much like partying and so walked home and had showers and went to bed. The most annoying thing was all the drunk people trying to help and thinking they were being useful but actually being more unhelpful than not... ...

After what was an amazing back packing experience, it was time to head back to Barcelona where my cousin lived. Oh, and I finally got my luggage this day! -__-

Anyway let's be positive, after all, I'm in Europe. We landed at Barcelona Airport from Amsterdam at about 9:30 AM. We went back to my cousin's apartment where we relaxed for a little bit and then headed out to the city to be in "tourist" mode for my last day in Europe!

... the upper part of the Rambla de Catalunya. Took a spin in the El Corte Ingles, then went home to chill for a hour. I walked a whole lot already. Headed back out this time to Barceloneta. Found some locals. You can tell you're in a non-touristy residential area when clothes are allowed to be hung from the balcony! Really liked walking through there. Went back to near my living area tried 2 tasty looking pastries. Couldn't eat it all, and I knew that too, but ...
