We woke just like every morning on the boat... Hungover but, to make matters worse, it was check out day. In a hazy scramble, we packed our bags, paid our tab and made our way off the boat for the last time.

Kitto and I headed to the first coffee shop with wifi, to get to work finding somewhere to sleep for the extra night we had planned to stay in Split.

After following the hostel's basic instructions, and walking around ...

There are lots of fish species in the lake including, Brown and Rainbow Trout, perch, pike, catfish, carp just to name a few, while the predominant fish species is the Char, a new one to me! 10 September We were grateful that the adventure day tour went ahead. This not being my period, I am not a great expert in the reign of Diocletian, who was Roman Emperor from 284 to 305. He built this vast complex as his retirement home, and much of it survives today. It is sensational. There are the alleys and squares we have come to love around Europe, but it is all thrown together and jumbled up with substantial surviving ...

... with privacy curtains, large mattresses, huge lockers that fit both our bags easily and plenty of charging points next to each bed. Definitely a worthy new hostel and one we’d highly recommend.

Being only a short walk from town had its benefits as we headed down the main drag on the side of the city that was cobbled with sheer while stones that proved to be somewhat slippery. We headed past small take away shops, ice ...
