Felling a little seedy we decided not to move on today. I walked up into town to get the baguette for lunch. After lunch we all went for a walk up through town where we had a drink in a kerbside cafe and then down through the park back to the river. We played Rummikub that night to their rules. I finally conceded to Bruce as it approached ...

So today we head off to the lock, to find it is running and OK to get through; we wonder if it just closed early? It's a very pretty run up to Besancon. We find limestone cliffs, pretty towns and holiday houses on the banks, and it's a still sunny day! Lachlan and Victoria build us up to a fever pitch of excitement as they promise us a surprise along the way! We approach a tunnel, and see a cute array of flashing ...

We visit Heuilly-sur-Saône to find a war memorial surrounded by shell cases? We see lots of herons, swans: a few with cygnets, and we all see the 'marten de peche' kingfisher, swoop ...

We walked back to Dream Catcher passing a lot of music shops selling mostly pianos,we wondered if the university here is a musical one. We've no Internet here in France, so no blogging, we read for a while in the ...

... hungry!!!! We finally found a store open and got a nasty sandwich and found a place to eat our lunch in a hurry. We also got another bottle of wine. Eldon keeps hoping we will find a Cave and fill one of our large water bottles with their wine. We aren't far from the Burgundy region, so it's not impossible to find the wine I will like. I just don't care for the wine from this region, the ...
