... socialising and catching up with each other. The people we have spoken to are really friendly and have a good chat to you. The elderly ladies in the street usually give you a big smile and say 'Kalimera'.

We took the little red car and headed off South to look at some temple ruins and some of the beaches. Demeter's Temple ruins were from 500BC with an amazing backdrop of mountains.

At one road junction we came across a Greek man selling fruit from the back of his truck. He came over to the car and was keen to chat with us telling us his wife was from Sydney. He then insisted we go and look at his fruit. He told us he came from six generations of farmers on Naxos.

... Kastro (castle). Caleb was once again the star attraction as he joined the troupe in a traditional dance. He broke a wine glass accidentally on his way back to his seat, but got a laugh from the spectators when he cried, "Opa!" ... a yacht had sunk. It offered an opportunity for those who wanted to do some snorkelling. Because of my bad knees I chose to sun bake instead and spent a few hours laying at the front of the yacht like you see the rich kids doing on the TV shows. They never found the yacht under water but it was a glorious day for a swim and the sea was very calm.

We sailed towards SÚrifos where we docked that night.

... to this 18 year old Serbian. His sister joined us. They were cool both law students in Belgrade. I wound up trying to sleep on the ground and had very on and off sleep for about 2 hours. Then I woke up, talked to the Serbs a bit, and they offered to move around so I could sleep on the bench. Had choppy but decent sleep till around noon when I woke up again and started talking to the Serbs.
