The rooms are huge and easily accommodated 3 people. Very good wheelchair access. Our booking agent said she couldn't confirm a 3 person room so she booked two rooms, when we arrived 1 room was set up for 3 people, the other for 2 and neither was accessible. when we went back and pointed out the guy with no legs in the wheel chair and enqiured about a 3 person room all was organised and we got the best wheel chair accessible room.

Room was really big with modern tv and bathroom. No tea/coffee making facilities though, and no wifi available in the room. Can see the Dom from the window but it's a 15 minute walk! However we are also right beside a metro and train station which is one stop away.

In 1882 he was made a Baron and started building an impressive residence - Schloss Drachenburg - a mixture of villa mansion and castle. Every room was fully furnished, however he didn't stay there a single night! He built it to impress and show everyone how wealthy he was. He died, unmarried, in Paris, where he lived, in 1902. It is so surreal to walk out of the door of the station and there it is. It is massive and something out of a Spielberg movie. I can only hope my photos capture what I am trying to describe. If you have read the historical fiction novels by Ken Follet in his Pillars of The Earth and World Without End, you can see why the building ...

... hour drive to Bonn. I was driving today and the journey out of Antwerp was easy and painless and we accelerated onto the motorway heading eastwards. The journey was a special one today as our route took us from Belgium into Germany but with a slight thirty mile detour through the Netherlands. Passing through three countries in one day in such a short time was an unusual experience. The journey was an easy one and the miles passed quickly. As we ...
