The rooms are huge and easily accommodated 3 people. Very good wheelchair access. Our booking agent said she couldn't confirm a 3 person room so she booked two rooms, when we arrived 1 room was set up for 3 people, the other for 2 and neither was accessible. when we went back and pointed out the guy with no legs in the wheel chair and enqiured about a 3 person room all was organised and we got the best wheel chair accessible room.

Room was really big with modern tv and bathroom. No tea/coffee making facilities though, and no wifi available in the room. Can see the Dom from the window but it's a 15 minute walk! However we are also right beside a metro and train station which is one stop away.

Me and Calley worked till 12:00 this morning, it was the slowest morning imaginable! Time could not have gone slower while we waited to make our way to Stansted for our afternoon flight to Cologne. We'd booked this a couple of months ago to see the Christmas Markets as Barry had said how beautiful they were over there and finally Dad arrived at …

... And red champagne (never tried it before, awesome stuff). Butterscotch liquor. Rum. More whisky. Normal champagne. Pink champagne. You get the idea I assume.

We got SO DRUNK. Never have I been in a situation before where I do not understand a word of conversation, but have had so much fun and just laughed so much. It was truly fantastic - all was said in German, but somehow, from the tones of voice and facial expressions I suppose, I managed to keep up ...

... He also recommended that we go to a place called Rosie's for breakfast. We arrived at Rosie's to find that it was actually closed until 10 so we went back and checked out the park we had passed and found a giant church before returning to get some food. Breakfast here is pretty weird. You tend to order jams, cheeses, or meat and it comes with rolls to put it on. I ended up with a bagel and lox and herbed cream cheese with a soft boiled egg on the side. ...

So the bus ride was super long and mostly uncomfortable. But we made it to Düsseldorf! We arrived around 7am, and walked to our hostel to leave our bags. We weren't allowed to check in until 1pm, so we had to kill some time. We found a bakery and had some tea and pastry, wandered around, played in a park a little, and then had real breakfast at a place recommended to us by the front desk guy at the hostel. Ordering ...
