Wszystkie atrakcje w dowolnych ilościach były do naszej ...
Suzuka, Mie, Japan ania-maciekWe did the usual disembarkation and re-boarding to go through security in Nagoya. I threw the Japanese quarantine inspectors into a tizzy. I saw there was no line for the security checkpoint and didn't see them at the far end of where the line normally is, so I jumped the barrier and almost violated their quarantine. The decided I didn't have swine flu and let me through. I had only a few minutes between when I got to the gate and we started to board.
Tokoname, Aichi, Japan srvance... still ambivalent about organized religion, but it was a rather nice awkwardness-cleansing my hands and mouth at the purification fountain, and bowing/clapping at the shrines--I even said a prayer (for safe travels) at one of the public shrines. Not a bad day in all; even got up the nerve to ask a Japanese man to take my picture on a bridge leading to the auxillary shrine Kazahinominomiya.

Tomorrow...Nara.
Ise, Kinki, Japan mchao... speaking) deer. There's actually a bit of a sad matsuri that takes place earlier in the year where they wrestle the deer to the ground in order to cut their antlers. For 150 yen, you can buy some deer sembei (biscuits) and feed the deer. It was certainly a new sight for us to see. And all framed by more red leaves, aww!
Nara, Japan fiseb... friend, who would squeal like a baby pig at irregular intervals. Their antics were quite the amusement. Anyway, this morning I woke up all amped for my action packed day in Kyoto with Eva. However, thats not what fate had in store for me. Five minutes before leaving, I suddenly realised that I was not leaving Kyoto tomorrow, I was leaving today! Time really did fly! So, I scrambled to throw my stuff in my pack, (consequently feeding the beast to ...
Nara, Japan woundedsoldier... Lately you've been on my mind you showed me the rope the ropes to climb over mountains learned to pull myself, myself out of a landslide, out of a landslide." -It is exactly 14:37 on April 10, 2006 I am on the 6th floor dining hall, sitting a table for four with a cup of lavender tea steaming in front of me in a bright yellow mug. The window panes in front of me are sprinkled with rain drops, the stripped green and white curtains are ...
Kyoto, Japan lc65259... nor whipped cream. We used white bread, banana, strawberry jam and different kinds of candy and whipped the cream ourselves (no machines available, so it took no less than 1½ hours to whip the bugger), and yes indeed, we managed to make an excellent birthday cake, and Sok was touched by the gesture. So on Sunday me, Josefine and Sok went to Tofuku-ji temple, which is an old Zen temple, and famous for it`s maple ...
Kyoto, Japan myrri... find jeans for 21 euros in Finland. Anyways, we went to the so called American Village in Osaka, surprisingly many black people there. It didn`t seem like such a friendly neighbourhood though, and my Japanese friend Tomoko said that at night it is indeed not a friendly neighbourhood. The rest of the day Josefine was desperately trying to find colored contact lenses, and we also went to some used CD shops. Osaka wa meccha tanoshikatta, Osaka was fun ;) We ...
Osaka, Japan myrri... went to Fushimi Inari Shrine. It has thousands of shinto gates, and there`s actually a path up to the mountain that is entirely made of the shinto gates. The path is 8 km so we didn`t feel like going all the way, but anyways, took nice pictures, and now I can say I`ve pretty much covered all the major attractions in Kyoto. On Sunday (which is today) I was planning on going to Osaka, but the weather is bad, and my tutor has a head-ache, and the digital ...
