Fraueninsel and Family
I spent one of my last weekends in Germany visiting my Aunt Mary, Cousin Raquel, and Uncle Joerg at the Chiemsee in Bavaria Germany. My Aunt Dagi and I caught the train in Winnenden and traveled for a five hours through Ulm, Augsburg, and Munich and eventually arrived in Bad Endorf near the Chiemsee. We traveled all this way to not only see my family, but all to experience the most beautiful Christmas market in the world at the Fraueninsel, which is ...
Forest thaw

At the top the obligatory café was open ...
Walking in a winter wonderland
... manageable. The aim was to reach the Jochalm at 1483 metres, but as the altitude increased, so did the depth of the snow and conditions under foot were turning treacherous. There was also the prospect of a white-out or at worst a thick fog on the eastern slopes. Common sense prevailed and due consideration taken of Helen's ice ballet skills. We turned round and surprisingly made the descent in half the time it took to do the ascent! Down to ...
