October 12, Sunday Gorge, Waterfall and Antayla

This morning we left (almost forgetting to pay for our dinner)!! Firstly, the bus took us to the Saklikent Gorge. It was a great gorge – we walked through it – Craig venturing further through the wet bits. Once again a lovely day weather wise.

We also went to spend 20 minutes with Doctor Fish – where we put our feet into a tank and let the little fish ...

... Anatalya and after more GPS misguidance, found Aspendos (Aspestos is my way of remembering it) which was an ancient Greco-Roman city. founded around 1000 BC by Greeks on the Eurymedon River. The amphitheatre has been renovated and is still used today. (More pics)

... sea turtle, so we shared our breakfast and were pretty stoked to see one. Although it didn't look nearly as cute as the ones on Finding Nemo. I asked the camp owner if this turtle often came around and got an exasperated "yes" and eye roll in response. We spent the day getting to Faralya, home of Butterfly Valley, stopping at Fethiye and Oludeniz on the way. ... the steps and steep walkways of the old town to hop on a gulet for 2 hours of cruising along the coast. Very pleasant it was too with the sea breeze and the chug chug of the engine.

A quick tea for me when we got back, a blissful shower and then dosed myself with vitamin C, and garlic to ward off a pending cold that is doing the rounds of the coach. Tomorrow is another day......
