... perfect antidote for modern-day living, it’s a great place to unwind in an idyllic setting. The wonderful shelter of the bay provides a natural harbor for yachts and local fishing boats, the waterfront restaurants enjoy a reputation for excellent fresh fish amongst the Turks as far away as Istanbul. Gumusluk is famed amongst many famous Turkish actors, artists and musicians who frequent the bay during the summer months. We had a lovely lunch at a ...

Another late wake up, another buffet breakfast and then we caught the regular shuttle bus across to the Gand Yazici's sister hotel on Torba beach. We then had to wait until the Turkish Airlines ground staff delivered the documents back to us. We had left plenty ...

This week has been another enjoyable and relaxing time in Yalikavak, the good old Dolmus has got us around cheaply and on time to wherever we needed to go. On Monday after our morning swim we decided to do the coastal walk from the town centre around as far as we could go past the beaches and hotels. Being very hot this was quite a challenge so we had our first ice creams of the holiday to cool us down on our walk.....well at least that's our excuse, but they were very ...

    A breeze!

... have moored for the night. All is still. In Scotland the definition of a breeze could not have been more different. Our guide at The Queen Mother's Palace commented, "It's a wee breeze today." This, as Ben and I were wearing our full winter outfit of water and wind proof coasts and scarves! No wind, we thought, after the tour as we scurried to the protection of the walled garden that is still maintained by her ...
