    Kos

Migraine day. Slept in the cabin until there was only enough time left to go out to Kos, hurry to the beach ans have a dip, go back again. There was dance music and bars at the beach. On the way there we passed hundreds of shops. It was boring. I don't mind not having had more time on Kos. Except for the fact you can rent a bike there. That might have taken us far ...

I didn't go on land. I drank cocktails. Boredom and a free-drinks-pass result in excessive intake of cocktails. I didn't get drunk because I didn't drink fast enough. We went to relax in the cabin. Slight headache. The punishment for drinking is upon me. I usually never drink ever. Only in holidays. I saw a white pillar on the ship, little and skinny. From Symi, we took the ferry to Leros, another island but bigger than Symi. Unexpectedly we were picked up from the ferry port and taken to the hotel. Our hotel room overlooked the castle and the hotel overlooked a lovely bay, Panteli Beach, which we could walk to for dinner. We sat right on the waters edge and enjoyed a traditional Greek meal of octopus for Andrew and baked aubergine for ...

... 30 nm trip to Sögüt with a navigational hazard on the way. The charts assure us that there is an "isolated danger" buoy over it, however the guides tell us that the buoy might be there or it might not!! I will have to use all my navigational skills to miss it!! I am sure we will have another restaurant offering Calamari for Jules. I have pre-ordered the slow cooked lamb as it takes two days to make!! Such is the organisation of Ipek and ...

... lost the main sail and made good speed of around 4-5 knots with just the genoa. Lovely!! Much of the day was spent with the auto helm on but as always the fun bits are done by human hand. Jules likes nothing better than helming downwind with a bit of wind in the sails. Reminds us of the holiday in the Canaries when we were broad reaching in a force 6 making between 8-9 ...
