Langkawi, Malaysia mayliyou can take a taxi from klia to the genting highlands for about 160 myr. it takes two hours and it's a long and steep climb up into the mountains where it is always cool and never hot. ok, here's a joke. my first night at the awana hotel i wanted to turn the air conditioner down but could not find the controls. i called down to the desk and said that i needed some help with the air conditioner. your room does not have an air conditioner, sir, she said all calm and polite. it's great weather ...

... cheap price.

Left behind a soaking wet KL on Monday and was in paradise and on the beach by midday. The Frangipani Resort where I stayed was amazing. Has three swimming pools, watersports, freashwater pool and own private beach. My room turned out to be a chalet with a ridiculously large bed, which turned out to be of the Chinese style of ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia lexmarshall... say that it was relatively expensive compared to other things around the island. It cost a total of 38ringgit, about $8-9 for entrance. (still not that much). Once we were in there it was worth it, saw loads of things, although some of the animals are in a fairly small space and are getting bored, we saw a couple of seals and one of them was swimming in same route for about 10mins. Although the whole place was amazing for such a small island. <br ...
Pantai Tengah, Perlis, Malaysia jonsalt... white chunk now occupies my pant area! Jeez, this would take a whole day of unusually hot sun (with no sunblock) in the UK!
Even after the shower, you could instantly tell which of the guests had been out for more than an hour today - and not because of their tans, but because they were not speaking! We sat in drained silence for what seemed like an hour (the irony then, is that on my most relaxing day, I ended up most tired...). Then myself and Brian (one of the ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia jamiemeasures... in to gently lull you to sleep. It felt surreal. Also part of their minimalist lifestyle was the bathroom., which is essentially a tiny hut with a toilet and a large barrel of water and a small bucket used to flush as well as use for your shower. I must admit at first I was a bit in shock, but even though the showers were cold and a bit awkward at first I really enjoyed the simplicity of it. It just reminds you that one really doesn't ...

Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia 11kaks... the boat will be full. A useful tip...I recommend buying your ticket online so that you don't miss out in the morning. Even if you do this you need to exchange it at the ticket counter which is not on the wharf.....follow the outer terminal wall north and you will find the ticket counter. Arriving into Langkawi creates an atmosphere of a relatively busy island port. I took a private ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia kts17... storm so had to run for cover, but also because we saw some great wildlife beside the road: a couple of racket-tailed drongos (which I have only ever seen as bird skins in the museum. Much better in real life!), a pair of green woodpeckers, a family of large leaf monkeys and a what looked like a frogmouth! (That's a type of bird, in case you didn't know.) We will be getting the ferry over to Thailand tomorrow morning so will let you know where we end up!
