... all creat a city that needs more than 3 days to discover.

The view from our apartment is of the roof tops over the Old Town - terracotta tiles, turrets, unexpected door ways, chimneys - all add to the ambiance. See the photo attached.

tomorrow we are off to Rome airport and then its port where we will spend one night before embarking upon our 10 night cruise. so a new adventure awaits.

Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again. Finally the rain has stopped!

We left a very waterlogged site and headed towards Lyon and "Camping des Barolles", thankfully the rain stopped on the way here and so far has not returned in any force!

The campsite is situated about 7km from the city centre, its not a place we would recommend for a long period as its got more of a carpark feel to it rather than ...

... is getting warmer week by week. It's certainly spring here now. Sunny, but still a bit cold in the mornings and in the shade, but nice in the sun. And there are daffodils and blossoms!
