Avon Side Stratford-upon-Avon

With time rapidly dwindling I went down to Banbury way this afternoon to visit my brother et famille before I leave, taking the opportunity to say goobye to two young nephews - one of whom was able to appreciate some of the implications of what I am doing, "But what if you get sick?" he asked. :-)

Back up to Stoke in the late evening. Last day of preparations tomorrow.

... of space for a nice walk.... lines of trees that turn deep green in the summer.... ....also in the summer the hotel has many gardens( the english love their gardens) that permeates the entire hotel with the scent of roses.... they have many different colors and scents .. I sleep a sound sleep..... with my window open ... breathing the sweet scent of roses....... ! The food well, I really cant say much about the food ...

... He was suitably silly in the opening scenes with Cleopatra - he clearly was a man who was under a spell. This did establish her hold on him, and made his subsequent military mistakes (at Cleopatra's behest) less puzzling. Physically Stewart is in remarkable shape for a man of his age, and he was bare chested in many scenes, but the aura was to some extent spoilt by a hair piece. Again, it may have been deliberate in order to make Antony seem vain ...

Woke hearing the ringing of church bells from Holy Trinity for the 6am and 8.30 am services – such a lovely sound!!. Lay in and read for awhile before heading out to Kenilworth Castle (about 20 mins. away) with Stephen & Michele. Cost 4 pounds 95 for me and 2 pounds 50p for Nathan (total $17.50)

... and we had a great view of course over fields and little villages.













We did heaps of mud and stiles and Stephen entertained us with two face plants. We eventually found our way to the village of Weston-sub-Edge. It had a 13th ...

Brad called & woke me up at 6.30 am... looked outside and there was snow on the cars and rooves.... so pretty. Today was 3 degrees but minus 3 with the wind chill. Stephen and Michele had things to do today so we were entertaining ourselves. We had a lazy start and Nathan did some homework. It was freezing out today and so cold that Nathan just wanted ...

All the way home we looked for a bakery to buy some sausage rolls for lunch but couldn’t find any. We had a late lunch when we got home at 3.45 pm. Tonight for dinner we bought Indian from Tesco’s Supermarket and heated it up. Really no cooking and so nice.

... old buildings – Lord Leicester Hospital- timber-framed buildings built in the 1500s. Okens House, near the Castle Gates and Mill Street – a gorgeous cobblestoned street of pre-fire houses that survived the great fire of 1694 destroying most of the medieval town.

... a jacket potato with tuna 3 pounds 95. While we were there it hailed, rained and then had big fluffy heavy snowflakes, but it melted. We finished lunch and went walking and did a nice circuit walk on public footpaths through fields, little lanes, through lots of mud and past some lovely homes.









Next we drove ...

... Castle is huge and imposing. We walked around cute little streets and went to a tearoom and had tea with scones and jam. Nathan had a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Took a photo of this really crooked shop. Drove the 1-1/2 hours to Stratford. Nathan fell asleep the last ½ hour. Stratford looks very cute in the dark. Stephen is walking distance to the river Avon and town centre and lives at 22 ...
