... the glass. My parents went to the Hamptons for a couple of nights and braved driving on the other side of the road. We headed to Broadway one night to see the Lion King which was absolutely amazing. And of course no trip to NY is complete without a bit of shopping at Century21, Macy’s and a few other stores…

When they left Suzy came to stay for a few nights. Suzy and Leigh moved back to Perth after living in NY so it was really great to catch up ...

... Floyd Bennett Airfield (National Park) Mike and Alinda decided to take a taxi to La Guardia Airfield for their flight. Leaving us to get a good nights sleep. Our site is on a concrete pan next to an aviation museum (I feel really at home). I think the whole of New York occupants use this park as everything is available, fishing, boating, camp sites, model aircraft flying etc etc. Bought a 30 dollar pass ...

... up the rowing concept quickly. We were in hysterics as we speared off course or started going around in circles now and then. By the end of the hour though we were all 'experts' and ready for the next Olympics trials. Dinner was in Little Italy which just happened to be holding the 86th San Gennaro street festival. It runs along Mulberry St for 5-6 blocks and it quickly became apparent that each block had the same set of stalls, sausages, cannoli, Italian Cafe/bar, T-shirts, ...

... serving dishes. It was a hot day so we ate outside, but remember to sneek a peek at Gundels elegant interior and its floral display.

We had a clear cold consume, salad, then stuffed squash, a napoleon for dessert. The food was of course, first rate. The cost was $ 40 USD for lunch a splurge, but this was Gundel.

What makes the trek feel tense if the fact that your oxygen intake will be considerably lower than normal (assuming you live relatively close to sea level). You will already have to worry about pulling enough air during your hike...do you really want to worry about aching ...
