... old town, which is crowded and some people are in costume. The different quarters of the town are decorated with banners. The centre of this town is a gem, but it is surrounded with an ugly sprawl of autostrada and unattractive commercial buildings. We emerge from it on a side we don't recognise. An Italian who speaks perfect English gives us directions, and save for a a short excursion to a rural dead end, our journey to Bevagna is uneventful. We remember how to get ...

A typical Italian breakfast, where fortunately we have arrive early enough for the precooked omelettes to be warm, includes packets of cereal, cakes, cheese and ham. We are offered seconds of expresso and cappuccino. The proprietor fusses over us as we leave. This would be a terrific hotel for a group of cyclists. Thank god we didn't meet another vehicle coming up as there was no room to pass and we could not back ...

Well the ferry over was easy, even if getting on the boat was a chore.
there will be pics, I think I got sunrise over the Adriatic, as we arrived in Ancona at 7am. Got off the boat to be met by rain, and Italian roads don't like rain, very greasy.
Still headed out towards Rome, which meant going over the mountains, so if the weather dried up I was going to have more fun.
We'll ...

... Split would be wondering who those 2 dorks were on the top deck waving!

Brian, Cheryl and I had a quiet meal in the restaurant on the ferry. A very pleasant meal, and certainly worth it. We all retired early, as it has been a long day, and we needed to be up and alert when we reached Ancona in the morning.

Well for those people who don't know Brian and Dianne and Glenn and Cheryl this will be the end of your blogs. Pete and Roz, and Jo ...
