We didn't need to do an 11 month road trip to the Panama Canal in order to visit Napa Valley. But it made the wine taste that much better. We had stopped in Sonoma on the way south in January, and had been taken with the charm of the Sonoma Plaza area, which was basking in hot sunshine at the time. Our flight for London does not depart from San Francisco until 7:15pm, but by 1:30pm, we are anxious. We went to work today, but clearly our minds are somewhere else. Our bags are packed and ready to go, so we left work early and headed home where my dad will take us to the airport. Because of our eagerness, we decided to go to the airport a LOT early. Our only other stop for the day was at Beringer Brothers. This winery was recommended to Bill by a colleague. ... visited a total of 11 countries across two continents in exactly 60 days. During that time I visited 22 towns and cities and more importantly seven islands (not counting the UK). A satellite image of my trip(check out images on this entry) puts it all in perspective. Just about the entire trip: from Omaha Beach to the ruins of Ankor Wat exist on a single land mass. That's crazy. Clearly, there is a lot more to be seen and I plan on seeing some of it ...

... we went to Sterling Winery where we got a tour of an actual winery and got educated on the wine making process. That was interesting, though I don't think I'd go through that again since I'm not a wine connoisseur, yet. I will say that after sampling the wine reserves at Sterling after our tour, I like white wines better than reds by far. The train journey was uneventful an we got into Bakersfield and transferred to our bus and then got dropped off in downtown LA but I will leave it their and post up our LA stories soon. It will probably be from The Cook Islands before we are back again unless I get the photos developed today which if so I will pop in and post them up tomorrow.
