... a U-turn and headed back. Truly it is hard to describe the scenery in this part of the world, no amount of photos do it justice. And simply having a car and driving anywhere in this area was such a fabulous experience.

Well the walk was mountainous (not surprisingly) and even a twisted ankle didn't dampen memories of crystal clear, dark blue lakes set in a backdrop of rugged mountains.

Leaving Canfranc Estacion after morning tea and toast with cereal for energy! On the 8:50 bus to Somport I go! My Pilgrimage starts @ 1640m then downward I go from the mountain pass. Our hosts took took us to their favourite restaurant for lunch. Saturday, May-09, 2015. Bordeaux – Birritz – Lourdes. Today we had an 8:15 am departure time, however there was something wrong with the back door not closing properly and so a buzzer was sounding every time we moved.
