    ... had a week of relaxation, and thankfully, we managed to get a couple of days with great weather – one day was a great walk from the main village which was located at the highest inland point on the island down to the coast, and the second nice day, we hired a car and drove around the island. One of the highlights of the walk was a visit to the Lion of Kea which is a rock formation which looks like a Lion, but I think that there has been a bit of enhancement. ...

    Today dawned bright and sunny, and relatively warm after the icy wind of the past two or three days, and it certainly made a huge difference to the appearance of the town. The sun sparkled on the wet cobblestone streets, and fairly bounced off the creamy brown brickwork of most of the buildings.     ... artist as yet unknown and now on her 'list' and a room full of superb drawings followed by another huge room full of monochrome paintings by Claudio Ridolfi. Wow....wonderful. And then of course just another quick visit to see Bianca!!

    Nearly 3 hours later she wandered back down the hill to meet Michael for a well earned glass of red and to here all about his and Liam's afternoon strolling the city walls.

    Just to finish off the entry for last nights New Year dinner, we were going to translate the menu for you, but thought sod it, why should we do all the work? After all, we are the ones on holiday!
    Suffice to say, there was pasta, soup, wild boar, sausage, pork, salad, bread, vegetables and amaretto ice cream, in any order you wish to put them. Plus two wines coffee and water....

    We had been advised by our hotel, when we booked our accommodation, that we should book our dinner for New Years Eve as everywhere would be fairly crowded. They kindly gave us a small list of places and we decided on La Trattoria del Leone (di Mauro Lucarini) as being our sort of place..... And we duly downloaded a menu and chose what we fancied on it.....
