At first the location appears poor but it's a short walk to decent restaurants and bars. Also habdy for laundries. Nice quiet street. Well furnished rooms and lobby. Good breakfast esp if you get the baguettes just as they arrive from the bakery. seems to be used by 'Explore' for their group tours.

I passed a Land …

It was burned to the ground and looted of nearly all Laotian artifacts including Buddha statues and people after an unsucessful rebellion in 1827 by the Siamese armies. It was in great …

We flew from Ko Samui to Bangkok and then on to Vientiane, care of Air Asia. Have to say that AA have been great all through our travels; good service and really cheap flights, especially if you can book ahead of time when they're offering their special deals.

Arriving at the airport at Vientiane we had to go through passport control and …
