We stayed here for one night only while on a group tour. The hotel was nice and room clean and the staff quite helpful in everything. We found that it was well located within walking distance to the main tourist sites. Breakfast was served at the front and very good. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and greatly enjoyed Vientiane.

At first the location appears poor but it's a short walk to decent restaurants and bars. Also handy for laundries. Nice quiet street. Well furnished rooms and lobby. Good breakfast esp if you get the baguettes just as they arrive from the bakery. seems to be used by 'Explore' for their group tours.

The second time I stayed here I got a single room. OK no TV no fridge but otherwise ame standard and at $15 a real steal!

Stunningly beautiful, Laos has been the true surprise of the trip. I think it is because I honestly knew so little about this country and now my eyes are wide open. They say that you come to Laos for culture and adventure and that's been the truth. It's an amazing culture, steeped in Buddhist history. The people are very religious and the country …

... sour soup, sticky rice and spicy chicken - with possibly no spice! As that's what the waiter kept repeating back. On the table behind us we watched a weird man eat sticky rice with his fists making them into huge sausages - Tramp!
We had beer Laos which was good. We then headed along the night market and Matt bought a t-shirt (no surprise).

When we got back we decided to sleep from 8:30 until morning.

Not surprisingly, Handicap International works closely with COPE. Phongsavath, a 19-year old UXO victim who works with both COPE and HI, was part of the tour. I had met Phongsavath the previous week during our strategy workshops. He is a super sweet guy, but has ...

Malaria is the last thing you would need to take as a souvenir. So the random shacks and shelters that we found unexpectedly were the best options. We had our mosquito net with us. The shelter is usually built on ...
