Today we got up and the weather wasn't the greatest. It was cooler and gloomy with a rainy mist. I originally wanted to do this awesome hike today and take this cable car up the mountains, but everything I've read kind of discouraged it if the weather is bad. Instead, we ended up taking the train to the main station and then taking a bus to the …

Today we tried getting up earlier to catch a train from Vienna to Salzburg, Austria. The train cost about 40 Euros, but was a very nice and simple trip. We then had to catch another train at the main Salzburg station to get to our hotel. We are staying at the Austria Trend Hotel. We were able to find which train to take pretty easily, but once we …

Next we drove to Bad Ischl which looked like a pretty town. It was quite nice and the river ran through the middle of it which was pretty. There were horse and carts everywhere and we walked down the town street following them. We managed to find a café that was open and it looked like a cute little tea room. We stopped there for hot chocolate and to warm up a bit. There was a parliament house/ castle type thing in the town too which ...

The snow had finally stopped falling, it was -2 degrees and mum and I danced in the snow welcoming in the new year. After some hard work building an epic snowman earlier in the evening Dan and Dad retired to bed early.

... We parked in the town and walked to the lake which was very nice in the sunshine.

At the lake there was a pontoon which was nice to walk out onto, the water was amazingly clear in the lake you could see right to the bottom. There was also a little swimming pool which was part of the lake but with steps down to it - I cant believe people actually swim in there!! It was iced over at the sides which shows how cold it is. Its very refreshing walking in the ...
